Finance - The investor can be located anywhere in the world, so the producer of the film must travel to secure an investor. The producer is up against other producers in order to get thier money so its quiet a competitive market.
There are 3 main sources of investment for a film:
Privtate Investors - There are alot of individual investors willing to spend thier money on investing for a film
Co productions - If productions cant afford or think its risky to spend alot of money they will partner up with other production companies and share the costs.
Public Investment - Money can also come from public organisations such as the UK film council
Pre sales
The producer can also make some money buy selling the rights of the movie before it has even been made.
